Why we use Clean Color!

At Green + Anchor Salon we choose to use O&M CØR.color. Our Founder & Master Stylist Briana personally went through every ingredient in multiple ‘cleaner’ brands - some well known, others not as much - and finally selected O&M CØR.color as the best available for our stylists and clients. We are comfortable that the great ingredients outshined any possibly questionable ones, even if used in extremely small amounts. We strive for the healthiest, most restorative products available while providing a high-end luxury hair experience.

We have to remember that no color line will be 100% perfect. If you are chemically changing your hair color, there will be chemicals involved in the process - even water itself is a chemical (H2O)! One of our stylist described some of the ingredients in our hair color spot on as being "clean chemicals", which they are in fact just that. At Green + Anchor we want clients to know that the color used on them in the salon is free of the highly irritating chemicals used in conventional color lines that could possibly give them a scalp or allergic reaction.

No Professional-quality color line is 100% organic but O&M sure comes close!

So you might be wondering... What ingredients does O&M have in their color?

O&M CØR.color uses micro-color pigments and natural Australian botanicals combined with a unique clay mineral complex to deliver high performance & healthy results. They use exotic fruits and seeds of the Australian desert: the Quandong / Desert Peach (Santalum acuminatum), Desert Lime (Citrus glauca) and Wattle Seed (Acacia victoriae) which hydrate, soothe and condition dry, itchy scalps, protect & condition hair through the coloring process and lastly provides antioxidants and phytosterols (helpful plant compounds) to support hair health every day.

The important thing is to make a conscious decision on what will be the most beneficial for you!

O&M CØR.color is FREE from:

AMMONIA — which is used to swell the hair and open the cuticle scales to allow color to penetrate deep within the cortex. For anyone with sensitive skin or scalp, this is an unhealthy additive. O&M replaced it with MEA – an alkaline agent that mimics the role of Ammonia, minus the odor, red eyes and irritation.

PPD — Paraphenylenediamine is a chemical known to cause dermatitis, reddening and swelling of the scalp and face. O&M replaced it with low levels of PTDS (P-toluenediamine Sulfate), enabling up to 50% of PPD allergic stylists and clients to now use color.

RESORCINOL — is a popular coloring agent toxic to wildlife and the human immune system. Shade dependent, they have replaced it with 2-Methylresorcinol or 4-Chlororesorcinol – two chemicals kinder to the environment and with less potential to sensitize.

These common ingredients can cause an unpleasant odor, skin irritations, allergies, and toxicity to the endocrine system, immune system & the environment.

"We believe that no client should be exposed to unnecessary chemicals and no hairdresser should have to constantly work with them." -O&M
